“I was there, myself and my pal seemed to be the oldest people in the room. I seem to remember the Spiders doing some old rock 'n roll tune as the encore”

“I think the headline gig at International One was as a result of their being managed by Jim Carr who ran the postering outfit that did all the International's postering.
Jim later skipped town after being shot outside UMIST whilst postering.
The Naughties were a great band with some great songs, I saw them mostly at The Gallery on Peter Street.”

“I don't remember Reni playing with Yes Sir either but he told me that he did do one gig”

“I used to manage Yes Sir, while there was a permanent core to the band, there was also a huge turnover of other musicians, particularly horn players. Amongst those who served were Reni, who did one gig with the band and Sylvan Richardson, who went on to join Simply Red.
They were very much a Blues Brothers type of act covering classic blues and soul numbers. They toured all over the UK and in Europe. They released one single, a cover of the Tom Waites song, Heart Attack and Vine, recorded at Revolution studios in Cheshire with Mick Brophy from the Cheaters producing. At their height they were pulling audiences of several hundred but when they slimmed down to a five piece and started doing their own material the audience dwindled away.
A couple of years ago the band reformed with original members, Dean Frost on vocals and Nick Clarke on guitar.”
